SHARE THE HOUR

Our amazing team of educators and student volunteers are committed to improving literacy by offering lessons free of charge.  How does it work? Educators and High School Volunteers simply Share The Hour with elementary aged students, and all will simultaneously benefit.  Volunteers will experience the joy and satisfaction of improving literacy amongst our youth.  Students will build confidence while making huge educational strides.   

  Statistics show that students who struggle to read are more likely to drop out of school before they complete a basic education.  Seeing firsthand the quantity of underprivileged elementary aged students not on par with grade appropriate reading levels, I saw an opportunity to create a program to engage these students.  And that is how Share The Hour was born, providing a safe space for educators and high school volunteers to engage elementary aged students and help advance their literacy level.
